Protecnium, an international firm specializing in engineering and technical services, is seeking a Subcontract Administrator to join our team for a Bridge Construction Project in Quebec, Canada.

Estimated Duration: 12 months, with potential for continuity in other projects once this one ends.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and monitor contracts to ensure compliance with clauses, changes, and claims.

• Participate in pre-award negotiations and prepare contract award recommendations.

• Prepare, issue, and coordinate signing of contractual documents.

• Organize kick-off and administrative meetings with contractors and draft meeting minutes.

• Manage communication with suppliers and ensure documentation traceability.

• Coordinate requests related to site work, schedules, specifications, and operational constraints.

• Manage or support administration of bonds, guarantees, and claims.

• Analyze, negotiate, and recommend contractual modifications related to costs and schedules.

• Validate quantities for progress payments and analyze cash flow.

• Prepare and issue potential claims to subcontractors and suppliers.

• Coordinate and lead site progress meetings with subcontractors and suppliers as needed.

• Collaborate with the main contract manager on all commercial matters related to the primary contract.

• Ensure compliance with the project’s contractual requirements.

• Manage release of holdbacks at project completion.

• Close contracts administratively and compile historical performance records.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the project management team.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Subcontract Administrator in bridge, highway, road, linear works, or heavy civil construction projects.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred but not required.

• Strong knowledge of construction and contract law.

• Experience in an EPCM environment (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management).

• Proficient in contract management and legal aspects.

• Experience drafting and applying commercial terms with legal understanding.

• Proficient with MS Office.

• Fluent in both French and English (required).

• Ethical, trustworthy, and skilled in handling sensitive information.

• Strong negotiation, organizational, and multitasking skills.

• Dynamic and motivated to interact effectively with construction teams.
