Protecnium is an international firm specialising in engineering and technical services. We are currently seeking a Design Manager for a large-scale hydropower infrastructure project in New South Wales (NSW). This role is key to leading multidisciplinary design teams, coordinating permanent works, and ensuring project quality, safety, and technical standards.
• Manage the full design lifecycle of civil and completion works packages.
• Ensure compliance with technical specifications, safety standards, and regulations.
• Coordinate design activities across disciplines and interface with construction and subcontractor teams.
• Administer Design Services Agreements and manage consultants’ performance.
• Lead design review meetings and stakeholder engagement for timely approvals.
• Monitor design schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
• Guide, mentor, and lead design teams.
• Integrate construction methodologies within the design process.
• Coordinate responses to client feedback.
• Prepare and present both internal and external design reports.
• Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering + Project Management certification.
• 10+ years leading multidisciplinary design teams in large infrastructure or hydropower projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of underground construction, structural engineering, and E&M systems.
• Proficiency in managing design schedules, budgets, stakeholder communications, and regulatory compliance.
• English fluency (C1 level). Valid White Card (or willingness to obtain it).
