The project includes the construction of a 1,390 megawatt combined cycle power plant located in the mining town of Waad Al Shamal, Saudi Arabia. The plant also includes a 50 megawatt concentrated solar plant that will be integrated with CCGT’s water-steam cycle. The project will be able to provide the equivalent energy needed to power more than 500,000 Saudi homes.
