Alcoutim – Pereiro Photovoltaic Park: a commitment to sustainable energy

In 2024, Protecnium had the privilege of participating in the development of the Alcoutim Solar Park, a pioneering photovoltaic project in the south of Portugal. This ambitious park, with an installed capacity of 144 megawatts, consists of four photovoltaic plants spread across 250 hectares: Viçoso, Pereiro, S. Marcos, and Albercas. The Pereiro plant, where Protecnium played a key role, will contribute significantly to the estimated annual production of 250,000 megawatt-hours, supplying over 80,000 households and preventing the emission of 75,000 tons of CO2 per year.

Protecnium’s contribution to the Alcoutim – Pereiro Solar Park

In this project, Protecnium played an essential role by taking on all topographic work for the Pereiro Photovoltaic Plant. This included precise land control and the correct installation of construction elements. Furthermore, our company provided a logistics manager, ensuring efficient resource management and smooth operations during the various phases of the project. We worked closely with Cansol Energy Solutions, our client in this part of the project.
