Protecnium opens new branch in Germany
New branch in Germany
We are pleased to announce the opening of our new branch in Germany, further strengthening our international presence. Protecnium has commenced operations on its first construction project in Germany, providing surveying management services and technical civil engineering services (planning). This expansion adds to our permanent presence in countries such as Spain, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia, Norway, and Ireland. The establishment of our German branch underscores our commitment to continuing our active participation in civil engineering projects on a global scale.
Germany is a benchmark in the field of civil engineering, with a sector that has experienced dynamic growth in recent years. Infrastructure investments have been particularly significant, with cumulative growth exceeding 13%, outpacing the construction sector as a whole. In 2020, the country invested €44.4 billion in civil engineering, primarily focused on transportation infrastructure, such as roads and rail networks.
The future of the German civil engineering market is promising, with projected growth between 2023 and 2030. Revenues are expected to increase from $256.2 million in 2023 to $299.3 million in 2030. The planning and design segment remains the most important, while construction is the fastest-growing area.
With our new branch, at Protecnium we hope to contribute to the growth of the sector. We are prepared to offer our specialized technical team and continue supporting civil engineering projects in Europe and globally.

Ara Tūhono – Pūhoi a Wellsford Highway Construction Project
Discover our latest project in New Zealand
We're excited to share that we've completed another big project in our civil engineering project portfolio. As an international company specializing in technical and engineering services, our mission is to bring innovative solutions to large scale projects while maintaining the highest standards of quality and sustainability.
Our latest achievement, the Ara Tūhono - Pūhoi to Wellsford Highway, involved the construction of 18.5 kilometers of new highway, featuring 4 lanes and 7 bridges. Over six years, our expert team worked to deliver a modern, safe infrastructure that improves regional connectivity and significantly reduces travel times. Key roles in the project included a Quantity Manager, CAD Technician, Survey Manager, and Site Production Engineer, who all contributed to optimizing design, minimizing bridge construction, and increasing earthworks.
The use of drones was essential in monitoring earth movements, ensuring precision and efficiency. This accomplishment was made possible thanks to our collaboration with NX2 Group and Acciona, whose commitment and expertise played a crucial role in this project’s success. The project highlights our collective achievement in delivering infrastructure that enhances connectivity across New Zealand.
For more information about this project and other ongoing initiatives, visit our experience section on the website. If you are an engineering professional interested in joining large-scale projects like this, we are continually seeking new talent. Don't hesitate to reach out and be part of our upcoming global challenges!
Thames Tideway Tunnel, Central Section
The stretch is divided into two sections of 7.2 meters in diameter, both starting from Kirtling Street. The first, 5 kilometers long, heads east until it reaches CarnwathRoad, while the second, 7.7 kilometers long, moves west until it ends at Chambers Wharf. The 12.7 kilometers that the central section measures make it the longest in the tunnel, which will have a total length of 25 kilometers. The contract also includes the construction of 8 wells between 42 and 62 meters deep, 6 connection tunnels, sewers, interception chambers and valves.
Protecnium provides tunnel surveyors, surface surveyors and surveying assistants, as well as civil tunnel engineers, shift managers, tunnel boring machine drivers, and segment specialists.
